Good Earth

Back to the good earth or rich soil, yea what we all depend on. On this 80~200, 16,000 Square foot Hawi lot full of trees, tallest on the north side, while allowing more open light on the south side, and in the lower shady areas is were I dedicate all the pruning's, vines, the biomass ready for transformation to the microcosm pile. There I break down into smaller pieces with hands or machete. Adding though out the season then about six months, fork or shovel pile through slanted sifting frame and simply recompost that which rolls off. What you have left is black gold, ready for enriching your plant kingdom. Now how easy is that!!!

Rich Soil

The areas of rich soil, are where all of transformed life is never taken away, but is able to build upon it's origin. Add man to the scene, and you have the potential to rapidly build the soil, rapidly decline the soil, or rapidly pollute the soil. Ask your self what practices will you choose, and how much time, energy, and money will you spend. I use on this 16,000 sq. ft. lot. three methods

REBs annual 2007 report

Aloha dear earth friends and beyond, 2007 has been a busy year. I did not produce many dollars this year, but created lasting works of art, sculpture, stone work, around 50 beautiful swinging doors, railing's, bamboo gates, gardens, bio active fermented fertilizers, lots of lilikoi, avocados, coconuts, citrus, bananas, turmeric, some juicy yellow ginger, very healthy looking Chinese cabbage as result of my home brew of bio-active fertilizer mainly lactic acid producing bacteria creating healthy flora digesting the nutrients for stimulating roots. This was a year to look closer into what grows well here in Hawi and how to survive locally in the coming years of food shortages. Like what are the best ways to collect and store rain water and filtering for drinking, basically just what is essential in this life, how to enjoy, being present in the moment, while sustaining this life, cultivating from the heart, influence, humility, understanding, knowledge, and sharing the richness of life in all my relationships everywhere. I ask myself, Just what kind of life on Earth should I support these days while here, where will I give and get from? what kind of mess have I left behind? These questions and experiences have given me motivation to explore healthier lifestyles. Back in august 2005 visit to Washington for Heidi and Alex wedding with my son I discovered the book "Hidden Message in Water"by Masaru Emoto. That was the beginning of my current quest to develop enhancing enchanting loving watersheds, pathways, filters, channels, water fountains for within the home where water goes thru purification and is fortified with essential minerals, proper ph and sanctified thru embracing pathways and cultivated from the heart, to be received likewise. From dream to manifestation, model building, mold making, casting, firing, testing, models working. I have gained much knowledge on my quest in the last two years, and have created some beautiful examples of low tech earthenware vessels for water, sprouting seeds, and cooking. I thank you all for your honesty, and support. May we be healthy, wise, courageous, compassionate, peaceful, and strong in the rough years ahead, God Bless us all. With love R.E.B.
